NOVEC Offers a Helping Hand to Those in Need

Dave Schleicher, NOVEC President and CEO

This is the season to be thankful for all of our blessings and to share our abundance with those less fortunate or going through challenging times. Please take the opportunity to reach out to your neighbors and community by supporting food drives, clothing drives, or by sharing time and conversation with others. By taking care of our neighbors in need, we raise up our whole community and make our part of the world a little better.

Did you know NOVEC sponsors Operation Round-Up (ORU) as a way to assist your fellow customers in paying their electric bills? When NOVEC customers voluntarily participate in ORU, they round up their monthly bill to the nearest dollar (so a monthly bill of $154.75 becomes $155.00). NOVEC distributes the ORU funds to our social service agency partners, who assist eligible NOVEC customers. For an average of about $6 a year, you can make a difference by enrolling at novec.com/oru.

In 2023, the Cooperative, NOVEC HELPS (our employee-managed 501(c)(3) organization), and other corporate partners have contributed more than $32,000 to food banks in our service territory. NOVEC employees also participate in winter coat and canned food drives during the holiday season. Visit novechelps.org to make a donation or request support.

Finally, I would like to personally thank all of you who are serving or have served in our country’s armed forces. Veterans Day is Saturday, Nov. 11, and it’s a moment for all of us in this great country to recognize your sacrifice, dedication, and service

Best regards,

Dave Schleicher, NOVEC President and CEO
